Transport from your home is not included in our pricing. However, once you have arrived in our area, a free transfer service to and from airports or railway stations is provided by us (subject to our Terms & Conditions).
You should aim to arrive on a Saturday. We can accommodate other arrival days if necessary but, as this necessitates hiring additional vehicles and drivers specifically for this purpose, we have to levy a supplement of 150 euros for each such trip.
Of course if you prefer to hire a car and drive to us (perhaps because one person is not going to participate in the painting or photography schedules and/or because you wish to arrive mid-week and want to make your own arrangements for getting here) Europcar and others have desks at the arrival airports.
In any event, whether you choose to fly to us, drive, or come by train, you will find that getting here is very easy :

If you are using a map then....
From Bordeaux take the A62 autoroute, leaving at Jct 5 (Marmande). From the toll booth, proceed to the roundabout ahead and take the third exit onto the D933 (signed to Casteljaloux). At the next roundabout, take the third exit, signed to Le Mas d'Agenais, and follow the D289 on past Sainte Marthe until you arrive at the junction with the D6. Turn left at this T junction and drive to Le Mas d'Agenais, keeping to the right on that 'major road' so that you don't go down into the village centre. You will arrive at a crossroads where hangs a huge low bridge warning for HGVs. Turn right here onto the D143 (signed to Calonge and Damazan) Take the next turn left onto the D234 signed Lagruère. Follow this road, and, after you enter the village of Lagruère, turn left at the T junction. Then, JUST BEFORE the canal bridge ahead of you, turn immediately right, following the signs to The 'Halte Nautique'. This will take you on through the rest of the village of Lagruère. You will eventually pass the 'Mairie' (Mayor's Office), on your right, and then you will go steeply downhill, curving sharp left to take you across the canal. Once over the bridge, bear right and keep straight on, past 'La Halte Nautique' with the canal on your right and stay straight on this road. Turn next right by the old ruined church (signed to Villeton) and you will see the gated entrance to "Les Peupliers" immediately on your left. just after you make the turn.
From Toulouse take the A62 autoroute, leaving at Jct 6 (Aiguillon / Tonneins) at the village of Damazan. From Damazan, there are two roads signposted to Tonneins. DO NOT follow the sign to Tonneins which has the sign for Heavy Goods Vehicles on it! Take the other road signed to Tonneins, the D300 Follow the D300 towards Villeton for about 8 kilometres. On the edge of Villeton cross straight over the D120 and continue ahead for apx 3 kms until the road forks. The left fork leads over the canal bridge to Lagruère and Calonges. Take the right fork and drive down away from the trees to the T junction near the ruined church at St Juin. The gated entrance to "Les Peupliers" is immediately on your right just before you reach this junction
From Bergerac take the D933, signed to Marmande, and travel as far as Seyches In Seyches, turn left onto the D641 towards Tonneins. 3.5 kms after the village of Gontaud-de-Nogaret you will reach the D813. Turn left at this roundabout to Tonneins. In Tonneins town, turn right at the first set of traffic lights (signed D120 - Casteljaloux). Cross the Garonne river and then turn right at the sign for Lagruère and "Halte Nautique" Turn first left at the sign for "Halte Nautique" (don't follow the sign straight on to Lagruere) Turn left at the ruined church (signed Villeton) We are the house on this corner and the gated entrance is immediately on your left as you turn at this junction
If you are thinking of renting a car as part of your holiday, we can certainly recommend the use of Europcar. We use Europcar ourselves whenever we need to rent a vehicle here or in the UK. We find their rates very competitive and their service is on a par with similar companies, plus they have an office in Marmande (just 16 kms away from us here in France). And no, unfortunately, we don't gain anything from this recommendation!
